Mrs. Sara Kauffman

Mrs. Sara Kauffman is excited to be returning to Belmont Ridge for her seventh year as a 6th grade language arts teacher! Aside from her time spent living overseas in South Korea and Germany, she grew up in Loudoun County and is a proud graduate of Potomac Falls High School.

Mrs. Kauffman attended Radford University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Secondary Education: English, Grades 6-12. After graduation, she received a certification in Technical Writing. She is currently enrolled in Longwood University's Master's in Education program with a focus in School Librarianship.

When she’s not in the classroom, she enjoys reading YA books (and loves student recommendations), hand lettering and crafts, relaxing with family and friends, and going to concerts with her husband, Jordan. Mrs. Kauffman also has a very fat cat, Fiona, who demands much of her attention. She is very proud to serve as co-adviser of Battle of the Books with Mrs. Kindler!

Mrs. Kauffman's Summer Highlights:
-Visiting a cat cafe, Crumbs & Whiskers, for her birthday and enjoying Georgetown Cupcakes in DC!
-Relaxing in the Outer Banks with friends (and a good book!)
-Exploring Austin, Texas with her husband and going on a kayaking excursion where they saw bat migration!
