•    Mrs. Diana       My Family!

Hello Kindergarten students and families! My name is Mrs. Diana and I am thrilled to be back for another great year in Kindergarten! This will be my 7th year teaching Kindergarten at Liberty. I LOVE this age group and being able to witness the progress that the students make from the beginning of the shcool year to the end!

I am originally from Chesapeake, Virginia. I graduated from James Madison University where I earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies with a minor in Elementary Education and a Masters in the Art of Teaching. I completed my student teaching in Fairfax County at Fairfax Villa Elementary School in grades 2nd and 5th.

When I am not teaching, I love to puzzle, garden, and read a good book while sitting outside on my patio. My parents recently moved to Virginia Beach where they live on the bay, so my husband and I always try to escape there whenever we can! We love being on a boat cruising, tubing, or fishing! We enjoy bike riding and playing with our dog, Finley! Also, I am a huge football fan. I love to cheer on my JMU Dukes and the Washington Football Team!

I cannot wait to meet each of you! It is going to be a great year! Go Liberty Eagles!!

Hi Liberty families! My name is Colleen Szczypinski (pronounced Sa PIN ski) and I am so excited to be here at this amazing school in South Riding! I grew up here in Northern Virginia and I am a graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with a Minor in Special Education. I have a strong background as an elementary school teacher having taught both in Fairfax County, Virginia and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I have taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grades and love young children so much that I am back to in the classroom after being at home with my own children. This is Mrs. Diana and I's third year working with each other and we are very excited to begin another school year!

I am a proud mom of four awesome kids, a daughter and three sons. I am always super busy watching my boys play sports and spending time going to the beach or to the mountains with my family. My oldest son is a rising Sophmore at Radford University this year!
I can’t wait to begin an exciting and fun year of learning with your children and I'm really happy to be a part of Liberty’s great group of teachers!
