    Melanie Stender
     English Teacher
    2020

This is my 20th year teaching high school English, and my 9th at SBHS. I earned an undergraduate degree in English Literature at Marietta College--Go Pioneers!--and a graduate degree in reading and education from WVU. Before joining the faculty at Stone Bridge, I edited copy at Glencoe/McGraw-Hill in Columbus, Ohio, and taught high school English, also in Ohio. During the 2021-2022 school year, I teach AP English Language and Composition, English 12, and PEER (Positive Experiences in Educational Relationships). In addition, I am excited for the opportunity to lead the Writing Center tutors on B Days.

When I'm not reading and writing--or teaching reading and writing--I enjoy cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and OSU Buckeyes; hiking and practicing yoga; exploring new places; and FaceTiming my niece and nephew in Dayton.
