Hello everyone. My name is Mr. Shaner and I am very excited to be your teacher this year.

Before coming to Smart's Mill, I taught Civics & Economics at Eagle Ridge Middle School, worked in the special education department at Potomac Falls High School, taught Civics and U.S. History at Indiana Junior High School in Indiana Pennsylvania, and served in the U.S. Navy.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and my Master's Degree in Education Administration from Shenandoah University.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and traveling. I am looking forward to another great year at Smart's Mill working with the outstanding students, staff, and parents.
