Math TeacherMr. Lunt
I am excited to be a part of HMS this year. This is my 27th year of teaching students about the wonders of math! I have tutored as well a number of students from this area in pre-Algebra, Algebra, geometry, and Algebra 2. I am teaching Math 6 and Math 8 this year.
My mother taught and was a school administrator for almost 40 years in Fairfax County. My awesome wife taught elementary school for many years. My precious daughters are 14, 15 and 17 years old. My wife and I are foster parents for Loudoun County.
I read and respond to emails and phone calls during school hours. Please allow 1-2 days for me to respond to emails and phone calls. I respond only to email accounts that I have on record as belonging to parents/adults. I have no social media accounts. ??
Please see the handout given to your child on the first day of class regarding supplies he needs for my math class this year. I will update homework assignments regularly on GOOGLE CLASSROOM. Your child will always know what she needs to complete.
SUPPLIES FOR MR. LUNT'S MATH CLASSES (2019-20):
1 spiral notebook approx. 180 pages or more (for taking class notes)
1 spiral notebook approx. 30 pages (for test corrections only)
1 folder (for homework worksheets and returned exams)
A binder to hold these items is optional.
I believe students succeed best when teachers and parents PARTNER together. I look forward to PARTNERING with parents to educate your child/my student this year.
If I may please recommend a book that will give you great insight into our current generation of children, then please read "Generation iY" by Tim Elmore. You will find it riveting and recommend it to other parents as well. You'll be glad you read it.
I read & respond to emails and phone calls only during normal work hours, and I'll try to respond within 24-48 hours.Staying Informed
I post my assignments in Google Classroom. The calendar is available below.
Parents, you can receive Guardian Summaries from Classroom about your child's progress. If you have not received an invitation from me within the first full week of school with your child's name and mine on it, please email me (insert email link here).
Grades are posted in Phoenix, which you can access through ParentVue
Here are handouts, study guides, and directions for projects. This folder would be set as Public so students and parents can access what is in there without signing in.Page updatedReport abuse
