I discovered my love of teaching while working for the AmeriCorps community service program in the East Harlem neighborhood of New York after earning my Bachelor’s degree in Film and Art History at NYU. I moved to Florida and completed my Master’s degree in Elementary Education and English for Speakers of Other Languages at USF and started teaching in Saint Petersburg, FL. I taught 5th grade for two years and 2nd grade for six years in Florida. In the summer of 2013, I relocated to Loudoun County with my three children (Elliott, 18, Aidan, 16, and Harper, 8) to be closer to family and to enjoy the weather and landscape of Virginia. I taught 2nd grade at Rolling Ridge Elementary for four years. I am very excited to begin my third year as an EL teacher at Rolling Ridge. I believe that learning languages builds bridges between cultures and that the cultural diversity of Rolling Ridge is one of its greatest assets.
