    Our Vision

The Cedar Lane Elementary School library is located at the heart of our school.  It is a vibrant place where staff, students, and the community feel welcome.  The library is in use for teaching and learning, browsing, meeting, reading, and using technology.  It is the place where staff and students can easily access information for academic and personal interests.  Users are happily assisted when seeking information, and are taught skills that will help them become independent seekers and consumers of information. Books and reading are highlighted in the CLES library and students and families are genuinely excited about all the CLES library has to offer.  The CLES library is a true learning commons where the atmosphere is inviting and collaborative, and where student achievement is celebrated.

    Our Mission

The mission of the CLES library program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information so as to empower them to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information. These goals are achieved through innovative activities, balanced resources, a physical space that allows for flexible and equitable access to materials, high quality collaborative instruction, and through constant evaluation and refinement of the library program as a whole.
