    About Mrs. Petsch
My name is Lindsay Petsch and I will have the privilege of teaching some of Discovery’s fourth graders this year. I’m happy to be a member of the Discovery family. I can't wait to meet everyone!
I grew up in this county and am a proud graduate of Loudoun County Public Schools. Having attended Virginia Tech, (GO HOKIES) I earned my Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management.  Then, I went on to receive a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Radford University. I am certified to teach Elementary Education PK-6 and Middle School Mathematics. I began my career teaching fourth grade in Clarke County, Virginia. For three years, I enjoyed positive relationships with the students, parents, staff, and administrators at Cooley Elementary School.  Since Discovery opened, I have been teaching fourth grade.
I live in Ashburn, Virginia with my husband and sons, Grayson and Holden.  In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, riding horses, watching sporting events (particularly those involving Virginia Tech), reading, and playing with my miniature schnauzer, Gunner. I’ve also been known to take on challenges such as bungee jumping and zip wire activities. Sharing books with my students is my favorite classroom activity. I know this won’t surprise you when you see my classroom library. I stopped counting when my collection reached 1200 books!! I’m proud of the fact that I’ve accumulated books of all genres, as well as many examples of multi-cultural literature.
I look forward to working with the students, their families, and the Discovery Community during the upcoming school year.
