Mrs. James

My name is Alexandra Schiavo James, and I’m happy to be teaching Art at Emerick Elementary School. I live by the motto, "Do something creative every day!,"  and I'm excited to share my passion for art with the community here at Emerick Elementary.

I am a native Virginian; I grew up in nearby McLean and today I live in Purcellville. I like to walk my pups, read long books, and spend time traveling (especially to the beach).

My undergraduate degree is from the College of William and Mary, and I have a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University.  I’m passionate about fostering creativity and problem-solving in young learners while building visual art skills and appreciation that will last a lifetime.
