My name is Mrs. Tiffany Ater and this is my sixth year teaching at Moorefield Station. I feel very blessed to say that I was part of the team that opened this wonderful school. I graduated from Shepherd University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I was born and raised in Loudoun County and am honored to be a teacher for this wonderful county. Other than being a mom, there is no greater job for me than being a teacher. I love being around children, and have a strong passion for finding new ways to make learning fun and exciting. I am also the childrens ministry director at my church so literally everyday of the week for me is focused around kids and I wouldn't have it any other way.
In my classroom you will find a variety of seating options available for students which will be conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. Kids spend so much time at school, so it is my goal to make my classroom feel like their second home. I want them to feel safe, wanted, cared about, and know that this is "their space." I love country music and one of my favorite songs has the lyrics "Down home, where they know you by name and treat you like family" - "Down Home" is our class theme <3
My husband’s name is Derek and we have have two amazing little boys. Easton will be turning 5 in October, and Aaron will celebrate his 2nd birthday in November. We live on a little farm in Lovettsville. I love to be with my family and spend most of my time playing outside with my boys. When I am not teaching, you can find me collecting eggs from our chickens, feeding our pig Hamlet, and playing with our 3 dogs, Daisy, Bo, and Sadie. I am excited for another wonderful year and am looking forward to this journey with you and your children! Cheers to the 2018-2019 school year <3
