She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida State University in Interior Design. She put this degree to work as an interior landscape designer for a number of years after graduating. She enjoyed this type of work very much. Then, something came along that she enjoyed even more. She had two children and decided to stay home to raise them for many years. She volunteered heavily in school during their elementary years and became passionate about working with young students. Once her own children moved on to middle school, she began to substitute teach. Six years later, she decided she liked it so much that she wanted to work in the schools full-time. She is still very happy about this decision.Mrs. Pontius loves working alongside Mrs. Smith to help the students with technology and all of the apps and programs that go along with it.She currently lives in Potomac Falls, Virginia with her husband.
