Mrs. Heidi Zimmerman

Mrs. Zimmerman is delighted to be your art teacher here at Discovery Elementary. This is her 22nd year of teaching art. For two years in New Hampshire, she taught 7th-12th grade art before moving to Virginia with her husband. In 1999, she opened Cedar Lane Elementary and was the art teacher until 2008, when the arrival of her son took her life on a different path to being a stay-at-home mom for 5 years. It was always her plan to return to the teaching profession that she greatly loved once her son entered kindergarten, which he did in the Fall of 2013.

Mrs. Zimmerman obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education, studio specialty ceramics, from Penn State University. She is a member of the National Art Education Association and the Virginia Art Education Association.
