Dina Leonard - SEARCH

Hi! My name is Dina Leonard, and I am excited to be the SEARCH teacher at Moorefield Station. (SEARCH = Seeking Educational Alternatives to Reach and Challenge Higher level thinking skills).  As the SEARCH teacher, I work with students in kindergarten through 4th grade.  This year will be my 21st year teaching and my 12th year as a SEARCH teacher.  I have previously taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing from the University of Delaware, a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida, and a Gifted Education endorsement from the University of Virginia.  I am married and have two beautiful daughters and one adorable pup named Blackjack.  In my spare time, I enjoy running and exercising, watching movies, and spending time with my family.  I am also a sports fan.  I love watching my girls play soccer and my hometown Philadelphia Eagles. (I'm still excited about their first Super Bowl win!)  I am looking forward to a wonderful year of fun and learning.

Hello Sharks!! My name is Michelle Schroder.  I am embarking on my seventeenth year of teaching, and my first year teaching FUTURA! Before teaching FUTURA, I was third grade teacher at Moorefield Station. I also worked in a private school teaching Pre-Kindergarten and Full Day Kindergarten. I received my undergraduate degree from New York Institute of Technology where I majored in Accounting. I earned my Master of Education degree from Marymount University in 2000, and this summer I completed my Gifted Education endorsement program through the University of Virginia.

My family and I live in Loudoun County. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband Chris and two daughters Katie & Courtney. Katie is a senior and Courtney is a sophomore. We love spending time at the beach together!  I love watching baseball, and I am a huge New York Yankees fan! I also love to travel, camp, read, bake, and dine out. I am enthusiastic about sharing my love of learning and hope to empower my students to be lifelong learners. I really enjoy teaching, and I'm looking forward to a great year full of learning and fun!
