Instructional Overview Lucketts Elementary is a diverse, fully accredited school that offers an all-encompassing curriculum for its 270 students. 28% of our students receive Free and Reduced Lunch and 22% of our students are English Learners. Our students’ racial and ethnic groups are reported as follows: 51% White; 25% Hispanic; 11% Multiple Races; 7% Black; 6% Asian; 1% Native Hawaiian Lucketts Elementary has evolved to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse community. Our academic program includes English, Math, Science, Social Science, Art, Music, Health and Physical Education, Library, and School Counseling. Additionally, we offer programs that effectively meet the varied needs of our students including Special Education (SPED), English Language Learners (EL), and Gifted instruction. Lucketts Elementary School follows the curriculum outlined by Loudoun County Public Schools, which is based on the Virginia Standards of Learning. Lucketts Elementary is committed to providing academically challenging core instruction and differentiated academic interventions for our students. |
Extended Learning Opportunities During school hours, students receive a variety of inclusion services and interventions from the Reading Specialist, EL teachers and Special Education teachers. Additionally, our PALS Tutor works with students to build phonemic awareness. Lucketts Elementary has a 30 minute intervention time (Pride Practice) built into our school day. Beyond the school day, students have access to after school activities. These include Lion Ambassadors (community service focused group), running club, art club, Crafternoon, and more. Scholarships are provided to students who would like to participate, but whose families require financial assistance in order for them to do so. |
Areas of Strength Reading: For the 22-23 school year, students below the 40th percentile in reading, according to MAP, had an average fall to spring conditional growth percentile of 72%. This is well above average and well above our goal of 58%. This amazing growth was also reflected in our adjusted reading SOL pass rate of 92% (which was increased from 77% the previous year). Math: For the 22-23 school year, students below the 40th percentile in math, according to MAP, had an average fall to spring conditional growth percentile of 60.7. This is well above average and also above our goal of 58%. This growth was also reflected in our math SOL adjusted pass rate of 85% (which was increased from 73% the previous year). |
Areas for Growth Lucketts has two School Quality Indicators at Level Two (Near Standard). Academic achievement in the area of science is at an indicator of Level Two. The Science SOL pass rate for the 2022-23 school year was 52%, which is well below the level required to maintain accreditation (70%). Additionally, Chronic Absenteeism was at 16% for the 2022-23 school year, and is required to be below 15% for accreditation. Both of these areas are targeted for school improvement in the 2023-24 school year. |

Outcome Goal: | By May 2024, Students in grades 2-5 below the 40th percentile in reading, according to MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) will have an average fall to spring conditional growth percentile of 58 or higher. | Process Goal: | Teachers will provide core reading instruction with fidelity and tiered reading interventions for identified students. Core reading instructional fidelity will be evidenced in 90% of the feedback forms provided to teachers after language arts walkthroughs and observations. Reading interventions will be evidenced by individual intervention plans being entered into Phoenix and monitored at least quarterly by teachers. |

Outcome Goal: | Lucketts Elementary will reduce our chronic absenteeism rate from 16% in the 22-23 school year to less than 12%. | Process Goal: | Lucketts Elementary will form an Attendance Committee that will monitor absences throughout the year and provide supports and interventions to families with students missing more than 5 days of school. |
