The Montserrat Chapter of La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica was chartered
at Dominion High School in the fall of 2004.La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is sponsored by AATSP, the American Association of the Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.SHH MISSION statement:
The mission of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is to recognize high school achievement in Spanish and Portuguese and to promote interest in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies.
Dominion sophomore, junior and senior students in Spanish levels III and higher are nominated and notified by their Spanish teachers for induction based on the previous year's academic achievement and overall GPA. Acceptance of the nomination indicates a dedication to continue on in their Spanish language studies and maintain their grades, 6 hours of community service with Spanish language and/or cultural components, and attendance and participation in the society's monthly meetings and activities throughout the year.Co-sponsors: Christina Davis, Kimberly Fogelson
