Welcome to 1st Grade
Meet the 1st Grade Team
Welcome to 1st grade! I am so excited to be starting my second year here at Sully and my 13th year teaching overall! I am originally from Pennsylvania where I taught for 6 years before my husband's job transferred him down here to Virginia in 2013.
I graduated from Millersville University in 2007 with Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education. I received a Master's Degree in Education where I focused on Early Childhood Literacy in 2011.
In my free time I love being outdoors. My husband and I live close to Harpers and enjoy hiking and kayaking on the weekends. We had our first daughter, Aubrey, in October and have been enjoying the new adventure of motherhood as well as teaching.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
Hello! This is my second year teaching at Sully Elementary, and my 6th year teaching over all. I previously taught second and fourth grade in Washington, DC. I am from Vienna, VA, and now live in Purcellville, VA with my husband, two cats, and my dog.
I gratuaded from The George Washington University with a B.S. in Public Health, and from Lesley University with a MAT in Elementary adn Special Education. I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, traveling, spending time with my family, gluten-free food, and have recently started to learn how to knit!
Please feel free to contact me any time, I look forward to working with you this school year!
Welcome to 1st grade! My name is Miss. Solano and I am beyond excited to be apart of the Sully Hornets this year! This will be my second year teaching first grade in Virginia and I can't wait! I am originally from Newark, New Jersey, where I lived 18 years of my life. I was raised by two amazing Ecuadorian parents, who have always supported my dreams.
With their love and support, I graduated from West Virginia University in May 2018 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Elementary Education and moved to Virginia shortly afterwards.
At this moment, I live in Leesburg and during my free time, I love to go on hikes, write and dance.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to working with your child and you this year!
Seth Stahler (ELL)
I am the EL teacher for the first grade. I earned a BA from JMU and have a MAT as well as an EL teaching endorsement. I have worked in Title l schools my entire career. I am drawn to schools and coworkers who want to make a difference and help guide students. I love the diversity of cultures, languages, and backgrounds of the students at Sully. They have rich backgrounds, are hard working, and always strive to better themselves every day.
I am originally from Vermont, but have made Virginia my home for many years. I like to be outside getting my hands dirty working on the land! I love to exercies, MTB, climb, run, play guitar, DIY projects, and run machinery. Most of all, I love spending time with my family and showing my son the ways of the world through hard work, play, and kindness.
Welcome to Sully!
