Mrs. Flor returned in 2012 for her ninth year as a teacher and her eighth year as a member of the DHS English department. She teaches eleventh grade English and AP Literature. She has a B.A. in English and in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Additionally, Mrs. Flor has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Duke University and an Ed.S. in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University.
In the Sterling community, she serves as the head coach of the Rivercrest Riptide ODSL summer swim team. Mrs. Flor traveled to Bo, Sierra Leone in West Africa to teach summer school at the Child Rescue Centre in 2008 and 2009. During 2010, she led professional development workshops for educators through Teachers without Borders in Nigeria. In Loudoun County, she has worked to support Backpack Buddies partnerships at several schools. These programs provide weekend meals for students receiving free or reduced price school lunches during the school day.
