Mr. Bryan Stevens is excited to begin his thirteenth year teaching middle school math. It will also be his third year teaching the CAMS (Coding at Middle School) elective. This is Mr. Stevens' ninth year at Harper Park.
Mr. Stevens moved to Leesburg from Pittsburgh, PA, where he spent four years teaching 7th and 8th grade Math, Algebra 1, Pre-Algebra, and Social Studies. He grew up in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh and is a graduate of Allegheny College, a well-respected liberal arts school in northwestern Pennsylvania. His graduate studies were completed at Edinboro University of PA, where he earned an MA focusing on campaign finance law. His master's thesis (216 pages of original research!!!) was a critical look at the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002. Mr. Stevens successfully completed additional graduate work in education at the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Stevens played and coached baseball for a nationally recognized high school program. He still enjoys playing baseball and slow-pitch softball. He is an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, and was pleased to find a large number of Pittsburgh loyalists in the northern Virginia area.
