Mr. Bryan Stevens
Mr. Bryan Stevens is excited to begin his fifteenth year teaching middle school math. It will be his fifth year teaching the Intro to Computer Science elective and his second year teaching Computer Science Foundations. Mr. Stevens is also serving as the CS Lead for all the LCPS middle school computer science teachers. This is Mr. Stevens' eleventh year at Harper Park.
Mr. Stevens moved to Leesburg from Pittsburgh, PA, where he spent four years teaching 7th and 8th grade Math, Algebra 1, Pre-Algebra, and Social Studies. He grew up in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh and is a graduate of Allegheny College, a well-respected liberal arts school in northwestern Pennsylvania. His graduate studies were completed at Edinboro University of PA, where he earned an MA focusing on campaign finance law. His master's thesis (216 pages of original research!!!) was a critical look at the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002. Mr. Stevens successfully completed additional graduate work in education at the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Stevens played and coached baseball for a nationally recognized high school program. He is an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and was pleased to find a large number of Pittsburgh loyalists in the northern Virginia area.
Mr. Stevens has also spent the past few summers visiting some of our country's National Parks. He has been to 23 National Parks so far and is excited to visit more of our natural wonders in the future.
