• Mrs. Mindy McManus

Mrs. McManus received a journalism degree from West Virginia University, but always had a deep desire to teach. After a varied and interesting career path that included time as a broadcast journalist, U.S. Senate Press Secretary, Marketing and Communications Director, and Program Director for an organization that provides camps and other programs to children with cancer and their families, Mrs. McManus returned to school to earn her teaching certification.

Mrs. McManus is certified to teach middle school English, Journalism, and English as a Second Language in grades K-12. This is Mrs. McManus' eighth year at Ashburn Elementary and she has worked with all levels of English Language Learners (ELLs). She believes her students are super stars! Her students are processing two (or more!) languages and working extra hard to succeed in the classroom.

Mrs. McManus lives in Loudoun County and is the proud mom of two children – a 22-year-old daughter who just graduated from college, and an 8-year-old son who is in third grade. She loves spending time with her family and watching her students discover, utilize, and celebrate their talents and brainpower.
