Mr. George teaches Biology and AP Biology and is the Science Department Chair at Dominion High School. He has also taught Earth Science and Environmental Explorations at DHS. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. While at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Mr. George was involved in a research project examining the water quality of the Rouge River watershed of southeast Michigan. Mr. George co-authored a scientific journal article detailing the results of that research.
In addition to teaching science, Mr. George coaches girls' lacrosse at DHS. The girls' lacrosse team captured their first state championship in 2019. Mr. George previously worked with the 2009 Class as their Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Class faculty sponsor and has assisted other classes in an unofficial capacity, including assisting the Class of 2014 during their Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years. Mr. George was the faculty sponsor of the D-Block student club for three years and has coached PowderPuff on multiple occasions, including coaching the Class of 2014 team and the Class of 2016 team to victories in both their Junior and Senior years. He also has been actively involved in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and has sponsored Dominion student Relay teams in the past.
