This is my 5th year in teaching math in LCPS and the first year at Riverside HS. I earned my master's degree from Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) with Environmental Engineering major. I also have another master's degree in Information Technology from American Intercontinental University where I studied many fields of IT including programming, network development, and database administration. I am a certified JAVA programmer. I have been working as an engineer for 8 years until I decided to switch my carrier to become a full time teacher.
I always have been involved in teaching young students who are motivated to get better. I have been coaching many students for math competitions such as MathCounts, AMC (American Mathematics Competitions) as well as tutoring SAT.
I love to work with the students and help them to realized that math is FUN. Yes, you heard it right. Math can be fun! My goal in teaching math is to show every student that math is not just one separated variable that gives us many headaches. Math is the fundamental building block that helps to understand and explain the world around us in a very logical manner. I will help my students to connect the math concepts with our everyday life and make an every effort to explain in a way that makes sense to the young students.
I am excited to start at Riverside High School and look forward to meeting the new students. I am married with my beautiful and devoted wife and two children who are both in college now. I also have two dogs and one cat. I love to watch movies and play golf in my free time.
If you need any help, I will be in my room around 8:00 am and will be available for after-school tutoring/help most of the day. Please check with me so that I will be there to help you.
All you have to bring to the class is the "Motivation".
