• Kelly James

Kelly James joined the John Champe family in 2012 as a charter staff member.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in French K-12 Education from Longwood University and her Masters in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.
In addition to teaching all levels of French, she taught elementary ELL summer school, served as the French curriculum leader in Loudoun County, mentored new teachers, and delivered both school- and county-level professional development to teachers.  During her time at John Champe, Ms. James has contributed to the growth of what is now one of the largest French programs in Loudoun County and for the past several years, AP French scores at John Champe have been the best in the county.
In the summer of 2018, Ms. James was one of only 18 French teachers in the United States to receive the SPCD (stage pédagogique de courte durée) grant from the French Embassy to study at the CAVILAM in Vichy, France.  She spent two weeks taking courses in best practices with French teachers from all over the world.
She serves the John Champe community as the World Languages department chair and Special Projects Administrator.
