Ms. Emory C. Henderson


Ms. Henderson has been teaching at Dominion for the past ten years.  From a small town in rural South Carolina, she graduated Valedictorian from Chesterfield High School (SC) and Phi Beta Kappa from Wofford College (SC) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature.  Ms. Henderson earned a Master of Arts in Teaching at Mary Baldwin College (VA), as well as a graduate degree in Special Education at Shenandoah University (VA).  Additionally, she has completed both the AP Language and AP Literature instructor coursework through the College of William & Mary.  Prior to her career in education, Ms. Henderson served as a Logistician for the US Department of State at US Embassy Nairobi, Kenya followed by several years as a stay-at-home mom to her two children.  An avid reader, Ms. Henderson’s favorite books include Anne of Green Gables, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Color Purple, The Nightingale, and Tess of the d’Urbervilles.
