I am very excited to be a Bulldog again this year  I have been teaching since 1993.  I have been in Loudoun County Public Schools since 1999.  I am a big fan of the University of Pittsburgh (undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (graduate degree in Special Education).  My wife and I have raised our two children to be true to themselves; be who you are, not what you think people want you to be.  Its important to me that we be inclusive to all people regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, or orientation.

"Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?"--Author Ernest J. Gaines

"This world would be a whole lot better if we just made an effort to be less horrible to one another."--Ellen Page

"When all Americans are treated as equal, no matter who they are or whom they love, we are all more free."--Barack Obama

"Openness may not completely disarm prejudice, but it's a good place to start."--Jason Collins

Love thy neighbor -- no exceptions.

Empathy is the greatest human power.  To be able to feel for others and relate to them is the most important thing in the world; it's the only way we can all share this world.  Without it, there's just chaos.

Don't speak unless you can improve the silence.

Strong people stand up for themselves, but stronger people stand up for others.

Never be afraid to stand with the minority when the minority is right, for the minority that is right will one day be the majority.

This is my doctrine: give every other human being every right you claim for yourself.
