I am so excited for my 10th year on Team Awesome at Pinebrook (and 24th year of teaching)! After graduating from George Mason University with a B.A. in Psychology, I continued to earn an M.Ed. with triple licensure in General Education, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. In 2017, I went back to GMU for a 15-credit program, and earned a Certificate in Specialized Reading Instruction with an emphasis on Learning Disabilities/Dyslexia. In addition, I have taken courses in Assistive Technology and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have taught both special education and EL/ESL from babies through adults.
Pinebrook is my home school. I live in, and love the Pinebrook Community. I absolutely love helping students discover their strengths and work through their challenges. I learn from them as they learn from me.Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband Jason and our three children who all were Pinebrook Pumas: Evan can be seen around Pinebrook as an occasional substitute teacher. He is attending George Mason University...Go Patriots! Linnea attends John Champe HS. She spends all of her free time at the barn, riding horses and jumping fences. She loves animals and works at a Veterinary Clinic/Hospital. Emery enjoys studying and inventing things and can often be found joining his Boy Scout Troop activities like hiking and camping. We all love spending time with our three black labs, Merlin, Echo, and Emmie, and get a regular puppy fix through fostering puppies and helping them find new homes. In my rare spare time, I love learning new skills, reading or listening to audio books, working on puzzles, solving mysteries and binge watching shows on Netflix and Hulu.
