Welcome to 3rd Grade in Room 27!
My name is Anna Dengler and I am very excited to be starting my ninth year teaching at Pinebrook Elementary! I spent six years in first grade and then decided I wanted to try something new so I moved up to third grade. I hope to see some familiar faces! ; ) I am from Sterling, Virginia, which is not too far away from Pinebrook. At home I have a wonderful husband and two cats, Coal and Violet, who love to chase each other around. I grew up here in Loudoun County and graduated from Park View High School in Sterling. I am so lucky to be able to teach in the very county that I grew up in! I graduated from Radford University and earned my masters degree in Early Childhood Education at George Mason University.
During my time at Radford I had the opportunity to swim on the swim team. I absolutely loved that experience and as you can imagine I love to SWIM and anything involving water! Getting me out of the pool during the summer was always difficult for my mom. I also absolutely love my Washington sports teams! My family also shares this love so we attend many football, hockey, and baseball games together throughout the year. Although, that has been very different these past few months. I hope to get back out there soon!
I had a great summer as we were able to go on 2 vacations to see family we had not seen in months. So thankful! We went up to Dewey Beach in Deleware and spent a week with my in-laws and 2 nieces. We had a baking competition one rainy day and I am happy to report that I won the "Pusheen the Cat Cake" competition! It was so much harder to construct a cake in the shape of a cat than I thought. A few weeks later we went to Smith Mountain Lake in Southwest Virginia with my family and 2 nieces. We had a great time swimming in the lake and fishing! Lastly, but certainly not least, I have one more thing I need you to know, I AM SO EXCITED TO START THIS SCHOOL YEAR AND HAVE YOU IN MY CLASS!
Please do not hesitate to email me at email@example.com with any questions throughout the school year. I look forward to getting to know each of you!
