ASSESSMENT AND GRADING EXPECTATIONS
In addition to the Loudoun County Public Schools Expectations Regarding Assessment and Grading, Leesburg Elementary has the following expectations:
- The teachers of Leesburg Elementary will also employ additional means of communicating information to parents about assessment and grading throughout the school year. Teachers will make parents aware these resources and how to access them to obtain ongoing information about their child’s progress.
- If parents have questions about progress in school, they are encouraged to contact their child’s teacher. Parents also have direct access to the principal or assistant principal during the year if they have concerns related to school.
Exempt = Student is exempt from an assignment and the assignment will not be included in any grade calculation.
Missing = Student has NOT completed the assignment and the assignment counts as a zero in grade calculations until it is turned in and the grade is entered. The “Missing” comment will display until the assignment is turned in and the grade is entered.
Turned In = The assignment has been turned in, but not yet graded. The assignment is not included in any grade calculation until a grade is entered.
Late-Turned In = The grade given may reflect the fact that the assignment was turned in late.
Absent on Due Date =The student was absent when the assignment was due. If the grade is entered, the grade is included in grade calculation.
Floor Grade = The grade is not reflecting the grade earned, but reflects the practice of "floor" grades.
Grade Revision Pending = Initial grade recorded, waiting on revision from student for final grade. Entered grade is included in grade calculation.
07/02/2020 ParentVUE/StudentVUE Summer Status
ParentVUE and StudentVUE displays information for a single school year. All LCPS students are now active in the 2020/2021 school year. Students who graduated LCPS in 2020, or are no longer enrolled with LCPS, will no longer be able to access information from StudentVUE. Likewise, parents/guardians will also no longer have use of ParentVUE for these students. If transcripts or immunization records are required, please contact the following:
- Elementary school - Registrars office
- Middle school - Registrars office
- High school - Counseling office
If the student graduated more than five years ago, please submit a records request online at https://www.lcps.org/studentrecords
Students currently enrolled in Summer School will not have Gradebook access for the summer school term. Teachers will send messages to parents and students through ParentVUE/ StudentVUE and communicate using other options, such as Google Classroom and Edmentum.
6/13/2020: Elementary MP4 Report Cards
Secondary MP4 report cards and Special Ed Progress Reports will be available by 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 20.
4/6/2020 Viewing MP3 Assignments
The Grade Book menu in ParentVUE and StudentVUE defaults to Marking Period 4. In order to see Marking Period 3 assignments, a student or parent must change to Marking Period 3 using a menu in the web version or the mobile app.

4/1/2020 Online Pre-registration Document Upload
Starting today, registrars will be contacting families about a process to upload electronic copies of Online Pre-registration documents. Please review the step-by-step process in Uploading Online Pre-registration Documents (English) (Spanish).
9/23/2019: Parent Phone Updates
Please note there is an issue in ParentVUE, where parents who try to change their phone number will receive a message indicating that the change was successfully made, however the change does not save. We are actively working on a solution to this issue. Please submit all parent phone number updates directly to the school.
