Timothy Flynn - Principal
Mr. Timothy J. Flynn’s career expands over thirty years in public education. He has served as a teacher, counselor, assistant principal, director, and principal. Mr. Flynn currently serves as the Principal of Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Virginia.
Mr. Flynn also served six years in the United States Army Reserve as an Infantry soldier in the 100BN 442 INF E Company. Earning a blue chord remains one of his most memorable accomplishments.
Mr. Flynn was selected by Guam Governor Carl T. C. Gutierrez to serve on the Education Task Force to improve the quality of education for the Territory of Guam and its 40,000 students. Additionally, Governor Joseph Ada selected Mr. Flynn to serve on the Site-Based Management Task Force for the Guam Department of Education.
Under the leadership of Mr. Flynn, Belmont Ridge Middle School was selected in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 by the Governor of Virginia as an Academic School of Excellence. Additionally, in 2009 and 2012 Belmont Ridge Middle School was selected as a National School to Watch, and a Blue-Ribbon School of Music in 2010 and 2011.
In 2011, Mr. Flynn was selected for the Washington Post Distinguished Educator Award and the Loudoun County Principal of the year.
The Microsoft Corporation honored Mr. Flynn in 2014 by selecting him as a Judge at their International Education Forum held in Barcelona, Spain. He was asked to evaluate and judge the best instructional projects from across the world.
Mr. Flynn has spoken as an educational leader at numerous conferences and various school divisions. In 2014 he was selected to present a TED Talk on leadership which was entitled: Efficacy, Expectations, and Excellence.
Mr. Flynn and his wife Sarah live in Leesburg, VA with their two daughters Fiona and Cordelia. Mr. Flynn’s son Collin is currently proudly serving in the US Air Force.Email | Timothy Flynn
Calvin Adams - Assistant Principal
Mr. Adams has been working in Loudoun County Public Schools for 12 years. He spent the past 11 years working at Freedom High School where he was a department chair and teacher for social sciences and global studies, activities coordinator, and SCA sponsor. He came to the Commonwealth of Virginia from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania after graduating from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. He majored in history/secondary education and political science/secondary education. He is a former assistant director of the Pennsylvania American Legion’s Keystone Boys State Program. He received his M.Ed. in educational leadership from George Mason University. Mr. Adams likes to spend his free time exploring the capital region and all the experiences it offers.
Mr. Adams will oversee students with the last names from Paq-Z. He looks forwarding to getting to know his students and all the other bulldogs at Stone Bridge. He will also be responsible for the social science and global studies department and special education department. Heidi Hayes - Assistant Principal
Ms. Hayes has been teaching at Stone Bridge for the past 7 years in the English and Science departments. She grew up in Washington State, graduating from Walla Walla University with BA and MA degrees. She’s been in Virginia since 2010 and is currently finishing up a masters in educational leadership from George Mason University. She lives in the Ashburn area with her husband, who is a graduate student in psychology.
Ms. Hayes is excited to take on the challenge of being an Assistant Principal. She’s especially interested in talking about instruction, school culture, and student ownership. Shahrazad Kablan - Assistant Principal
Recipient of the 2011 Paul Swaddling Award from Ohio Education Association for International Peace & Understanding.
Mrs. Kablan has more than 15 years of experience in education specializing in language learning, academic administration, teacher professional development, international student exchange and diversity. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Garyounis, Libya, Master’s degree in English Composition & Rhetoric from Wright State University, Master's degree in Education Leadership from George Mason University, and a Teaching Licensure with TESOL Endorsement from the University of Cincinnati.
Before joining LCPS, she was an English/ELL teacher at William Mason High School in Mason, Ohio. Mrs. Kablan loves reading, writing and traveling. She is currently writing a memoir. Mrs, Kablan is excited to be working with the Stone Bridge community. She handles students with the last names Gor-Pap. Tim Lucas - Director of School Counseling
Mr. Lucas is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. After working in the corporate world for many years Mr. Lucas returned to school and obtained his Masters Degree in School Counseling and Development from George Mason University. A passionate North Carolina basketball fan, Mr. Lucas has been the director of School Counseling at Stone Bridge since the school opened in 2000.Email | Tim Lucas
Adriana Rice - Activities Coordinator
Mrs. Rice serves as our Activities Coordinator. Mrs Rice joined Stone Bridge in 2009 as a Spanish teacher. She previously taught Spanish and English as a Second Language in Okaloosa County, Florida. She earned her Bachelors degree from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. She has always loved being involved in extracurricular activities in high school both as a student and as a teacher. While teaching in Florida she was a club and class sponsor as well as an Assistant Cross Country Coach and Head Coach of the Boys' and Girl's Tennis Team. At Stone Bridge, she co-sponsored the World Language Club, was the head Swim Coach for two years, and head Girls' Tennis Team coach for five years. As the Activities Coordinator, she helps clubs and organizations fundraise, recruit members, plan events, and assists the club and sponsors. Her main goal is to develop all students as leaders through the Inter Club Council (ICC). The ICC acts as a liaison between clubs, administration, and the community. Dave Hembach - Athletic Director
A native of Central New York, Mr. Hembach has a B.S. degree in Geology from SUNY @ Cortland and a M.S in Science Education from Syracuse Unversity. He also served in the US Army. After teaching briefly in New York, Mr. Hembach started teaching and coaching at Park View High School. He served as Head Cross Country Coach and Head Girls Track Coach before taking over as Athletic Director in 1995. In 1998 Mr. Hembach became a Certified Athletic Administrator. In 1999 Mr. Hembach transferred to Stone Bridge High School to start the athletic program. He assisted the Booster Club in fundraising projects to build a concession stand at the school's stadium, expand the weight room and build press boxes at the baseball and softball fields. Stone Bridge was named the number one sports program in Virginia in 2007 by Sports Illustrated. Mr. Hembach holds the distinct honor of being selected as the Group AAA Athletic Director of the Year by the Past Presidents Council of the Virginia Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (VIAAA).
