Damon Putman is the welding instructor at Monroe Technology Center. Mr. Putman has been teaching in LCPS since 1992. A life-long resident of Loudoun County, Mr. Putman was a graduate of Monroe Technology Center and Loudoun Valley High School in 1984. Mr. Putman received further training during his service in the United States Navy as an Aircraft Structural Mechanic.
Mr. Putman strives to promote excellent technical skills, as well as assisting students in job placement in the market after graduation. Mr. Putman's program is based on the AWS (American Welding Society) curriculum for certification and many of his students achieve this certification during their course work at Monroe Technology Center or soon after graduation. Mr. Putman actively participates in SkillsUSA competitions and has had many students compete at the state level and one at the national level.
