Debi Chaves is in her 15th year as an instructor at Monroe Technology Center. Currently she teaches Environmental Plant Science and Biotechnology in the Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Department. Mrs. Chaves is an adjunct professor with the Horticulture Department at NVCC and has taught horticulture classes through the LCPS Adult Education program for over 25 years. She studied architecture at Cornell University and Virginia Tech and has a BS and MS in Horticulture from Virginia Tech. She recently completed a graduate Certificate in ISTEM (Integrated Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from Virginia Tech.
Ms. Chaves is a Certified Horticulturist through the Virginia Nursery and Landscape Association, is a Certified Greenhouse Operator through the Virginia Flower Growers’ Association and holds a VA Commercial Pesticide Applicator's License.
