This year will be my 9th year at Potowmack Elementary School and I am excited to be returning to the 2nd grade team. I will continue to serve our school community as our Internal PBIS Coach, and as a member of our Personalized Learning and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support RtI teams. All students can learn. Each student needs a team of parents and teachers who help facilitate their learning and empower them to be an active participant in the process. I look forward to being part of that team with my students and their parents each year and I strive to give each family an excellent school experience at Potowmack. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions throughout the year.
Please see my BTSN presentation for more information about our classroom in the 2019-2020 school year.
About Ms. Stanford
I moved to Ashburn, VA in 1996 with my family and graduated from Broad Run High School. I went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Elementary Education PK-6 from George Mason University before beginning my teaching career. In May 2019, I completed a Graduate Professional Certificate in Administration and Supervision at Shenandoah University. I am passionate about lifelong learning and maintaining a growth mindset both personally and professionally. Some of my current professional learning goals are to grow in the use of transformational teaching strategies and technology in the classroom, and to further develop my education leadership skills.
