    Dear Third Grade students,

Hello!  Third grade is an exciting and busy year in elementary school.  We will be learning about many new things and also reviewing some of the things you learned last year in second grade. We are delighted to work with you and prepare you for your first SOL tests.

Please come by our classrooms and join us for our Open House which will be held for parents and students on Wednesday, August 23 from 10:00 - 12:00.  Sully’s Back to School Event will be held on Wednesday, September 12 from 6:00 - 7:30. Details for these events will be provided to you during the summer once established.

We hope you are enjoying your summer and are reading every day! Remember the first day of school is Thursday August 24th, 2023. Remember that the doors open at 7:40 and the tardy bell rings at 8:00.

    See you soon!

Mr. Roger Brown

Hello, I really like being a Sully Hornet.  My wife Susan and I moved  from Houston, Texas in 2021.  We have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.  I was a site substitute at Sugarland Elementary School in January 2022.  I became a third grade teacher at Sully in August 2022.  I enjoy watching sports, attending Broadway shows and reading books.  Ask to see my socks!  It has been my trademark at Sugarland and Sully.  Better yet, wear your best pair of "Fun Socks" and we can compare them during the school year.  It is always a "Great Day" to be a Hornet!

Mrs. Nina Neal

Hello! My name is Nina Neal, and I am from Maryland. I went to the University of Maryland, College Park (Go Terps!) where I got my B.S. in Family Studies. I have lived in Virginia for over 10 years. I have two kids that go to school in Loudoun County, and I have really loved working and having kids in this county.

I have always worked with children. I was a preschool teacher for seven years. After teaching for a few years, I was promoted to Director of Finance for the school I was working at, but I missed teaching after three years. I decided to make a small career change to the public school system. I received my teaching license from Shenandoah University in EL. This is my 7th year at Sully, and it has been like a second home. The students and families have been great to work with. I look forward to many years teaching your students and helping them become the best they can be!

I believe that young children learn through hands-on activities, especially when they are learning a new language. I strive to provide that for all my English Language students. If you have any questions or would like to reach out to me, my email is nina.neal@lcps.org.
