My name is Mrs. Tracy Matthews and I have been teaching at Briar Woods since 2011. You might also know me as Tracy Nichols. I received my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Chemistry as well as my Master's of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education, both from James Madison University. I am also a graduate of Loudoun County HS.

Both Chemistry and AP Chemistry are courses that require students to do work outside of class. It is imperative that students practice the material in order to better understand the content. Students are encouraged to communicate with me regularly both inside and outside of class. If you have any questions about anything, do not hesitate to email me at Tracy.Matthews@lcps.org.

My office hours: Tuesdays*, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 8:30-9:00am
*Except on mornings with NHS meetings

Nothing ever goes away in Chemistry! Come see me ASAP if you are struggling!

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

    What does everything mean?
    • A blank grade is a future assignment - something that has not been collected or has not been taken yet.
    • A zero for the grade with a red note that says "Missing" means that I am missing that assignment for your child and it can still be turned in or made up.
    • A red note that says "Turned In" means that the assignment has been turned in or taken and has yet to be graded.
