Welcome to Kindergarten, Legacy Families!
We are Stephanie Green and Stacy Connors!
My name is Stacy Connors. It is such a pleasure to be in my 14th year at Legacy!!! Legacy is such a child-centered, warm environment with an amazing staff.
This is my 26th year in education. In 2011, I returned to the classroom after being Legacy's Assistant Principal for 5 years. It was such a joy to return to the classroom and teach Kindergarten where I truly get to experience learning come alive! I have been a classroom teacher in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade, as well as a Technology Specialist. I also taught at George Mason University for 3 years.
I earned my BA in Elementary Education from Clemson University (GO TIGERS!!!) , a MA in Instructional Technology from George Mason University, and my PhD in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology and Leadership.
I have three children, Sara, Kieran, and Chloe. Sara is a graduate student at Shenandoah University working on her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Kieran is will be a junior at George Mason University this fall. He is studying hospitality as he has an interest in restaurants and travel. Chloe is the youngest member of our family. She is 9 and in the 4th grade this year. WOW!! She is full of life and enjoys running and being with her friends. She keeps us young!Legacy is an amazingly special school. We are founded on the belief that by creating positive relationships with students and their families you are guaranteed to help children grow. If there is ever anything I can do to help you, please don't hesitate to contact me!!
Stephanie GreenMy name is Stephanie Green, and I am thrilled to be starting my second year at Legacy! After having earned a B.A. in Psychology from UMBC and a M.S. in Applied Psychology From the University of Baltimore, I spent the first part of my career working in Business Administration for a couple of large corporations. When it was time to head back to the workforce after taking a break to stay at home with my children, working in a classroom seemed like a good fit. I had no idea how much I would fall in love with teaching! To be present in that moment when a child who has been working hard to learn a skill finally masters it is truly a magical experience. I feel so lucky to be a part of those moments with our students on a regular basis, and to get to do that as part of the Legacy community is just the best!
I have four children of my own. Dylan will be a Junior at Rock Ridge, Kylie will be a Freshman at Independence and Ryan and Tyler will be starting 4th and 3rd grades, respectively, right here at Legacy! In my free time, I love to read and listen to podcast. I also try to sneak in some long walks with our 12 year old black Lab, Bella when she's up for it.
