Welcome to Mrs. Donahue’s Second Grade Class of 2019-2020!  I am thrilled to be returning to Pinebrook for my 9th year (and starting my 23rd year of teaching)! You may have seen me in the upper grade hallway in the past, where I had been a 5th grade teacher prior to last year. I was SO happy to make the switch to 2nd grade last year!  I am a native of Northern Virginia.  I got my Bachelor’s degree from William & Mary in History and Elementary Education.  Later I received my Master’s degree in the area of Reading Education from University of Virginia.  Prior to joining the Pinebrook community, I spent 11 years teaching in Fairfax County--mostly 5th grade, but also 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.  Before that I taught 4th grade for three years at a private school in Vienna.  My hobbies include scrapbooking, going to country music concerts, reading, and traveling.  I love spending time with my husband and our (almost) 10-year-old son.  I’m looking forward to an awesome year!
