Hi! My name is Crystal Vandemark and I am the new STEP teacher at Meadowland Elementary School. Some things about me are that I went to JMU for my Bachelors degree (Go Dukes!) in Communications Sciences and Disorders with a Double Minor in Exceptional Education and Family Studies and I went to GMU for my Masters degree in Education.
My pride and joy is my 6 year old rescue pitbull named Oakley! I have had him since he was 2 and I am obsessed with him, so you may hear me mention him about a million times throughout the school year.
A fun fact about myself is that I was born and raised in Northern Virginia. I grew up in Prince William County but just recently moved to Loudoun 3 years ago, and am so happy because moving here helped me find my dream school to work at!
A few other fun facts about myself is that I collect records, my favorite food of all time is cereal, and lastly, I have never drank coffee before.
I grew up participating in swim, track and field, sideline cheer, competitive cheer, and all star cheer, so anything to do with sports...count me in! I am very outgoing, open minded, and energetic. I knew from a young age that I wanted to work with children and I am so happy I am finally able to live out my dreams of being a STEP teacher in Loudoun County!
This year is going to be one like no other. As a first year teacher I am excited and nervous all at the same time but cannot wait to take it on at the best school with the best students ever!
I’m looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you!
