    December News

The colder weather has arrived and the holiday season is in full swing. We are approaching the halfway point of second quarter. If your child is struggling in a certain area of the curriculum, your child will bring home an interim for you to sign on Wednesday, December 11. Please sign and return the interim as soon as possible. We have also reached the point in the school year when students will be taking their winter MAP assessments. Both the reading and math MAP will be completed prior to winter break. The math MAP assessment will be during math time on Thursday, December 5th. The reading MAP assessment will be during reading time on Wednesday, December 11th. If you have any questions or concerns throughout December, please let me know by contacting me via email, or by calling the school.

    Homework Policy

Students should be reading for at least twenty minutes every day, and using one of the three math programs students have access to both at home and at school (Dream Box, Prodigy, & Reflex) at least 2-3 times a week. (Dream Box and Reflex should be the priority.) Please check your child’s agenda and take home folder each night, or as often as possible, so that you are aware of your child’s homework assignments and upcoming assessments each day. All homework is due the following day unless otherwise specified. Late homework will be counted for partial credit if turned in one day late (excluding absences). Please make sure Friday folders and reading logs are signed at the end of each week as they are checked for signatures weekly.
