Welcome to Buffalo Trail!  My name is Nayeli Garcia Selvaraj and I am the 3rd-5th grade Guidance Counselor.  I am here to help you experience a fantastic school year.

Here's a little bit about me.  I received my master's degree in school counseling from the University of Maryland and worked as a guidance counselor in Maryland for several years before moving to Loudoun County in 2004.  I then worked at Seneca Ridge and Stone Hill middle schools.  I am proud to be one of the charter faculty members who opened Buffalo Trail in 2010.  I believe that the elementary years are incredibly important in terms of academic, social, and personal development, and I'm thrilled to have the chance to be a part of our students' lives.

When I'm not at Buffalo Trail, I love spending time with my family.  My daughter, Lily, attended Buffalo Trail from Kindergarten until 5th grade and is now in middle school.  My son, Johnny, is a 3rd grader at Buffalo Trail.  I also enjoy running and cooking healthy meals for my family.

Students see me in their classrooms about twice a month, where they learn about various important subjects, such as cooperation, goal-setting, and conflict resolution.  Students also have the opportunity to meet with me in groups during lunch time.  Some groups that we may have this year are friendship, study skills, and changing families.  Finally, students can meet with me individually for a variety of reasons.  They can let their teacher know or they can fill out a form and drop it off in the envelope on my door.

Please do not hesitate to call or email me.  Our school's phone number is 703-722-2780 and my email is Nayeli.GarciaSelvaraj@lcps.org.  I am here to support our wonderful students and families.
