Dear KWC Families-
I am delighted to be a part of the KWC family. This will be my fourteenth year as a Resource Teacher. This year, I will co-teach multiple grades. My role as a Resource Teacher is to create a safe and fun-filled place for each child to learn in the ways that best suit his or her learning style. I support the learning process by offering a wealth of enriching experiences. This includes inclusive classroom modeling skills needed to become a productive citizen. We use technology, hands-on discovery, problem center approaches, and self-directed learning. This allows each child to build their own understanding and find strategies for academic success.
My goal is to create a classroom that fosters creativity and encourages diversified learning - A place where a student feels secure and excited about learning.
On a more personal note, I am a graduate of Elon University (BA '87) and George Mason (M.Ed '06). I hold an endorsement in Special Education from Shenandoah University ('11). I am completing course work in an Administrative Leadership Doctorate Program (ED.D) at Shenandoah University.
Fondly,
Jessica Halterman Vermont
