Meditation

To meditate is “to engage in contemplation or reflection.” In other words, in meditation we look inward, into our deeper consciousness.  With regular practice, meditation can be used to calm the mind, relax the body, and ease health issues, such as high blood pressure, leading us into a sense of well-being and peace.  No meditation experience is needed to attend a meditation class.

No registration required. All classes will be held in the library.

Recommendations:
If participants need extra support or cushioning when sitting for long periods, they should bring pillows (like couch throw pillows or travel pillows). Casual, comfortable clothing; layering is good to adjust to room temperature and changes in body temperature from the meditation. Participants can bring water in a closed container, but not coffee, tea, soda, etc. Some participants get thirsty during meditation, so dehydrating beverages are counterproductive; hot beverages might spill and cause disruption.
