• Early Childhood Education II Course Summary

     
    Students enrolled in ECE II participate in the on-site preschool at WHS.  Students are responsible for both supporting the learning of the children enrolled in our Head Start Program and mentoring high school students enrolled in ECE I.  In addition, each student completes indivudual and group assignments that reflect on his/her experience(s) in the preschool.  
     

    Early Childhood Education II Course Sylabus

    Early Childhood Education II at Woodgrove High School is a Dual Enrollment Course through Northern Virginia Community College.  Students earn 3 college credits for the course.  The course is aligned with NOVA's CHD 165 (3 cr).  The course earns 2 credits for LCPS.
     
     

    Requirements for entry into Woodgrove High School's Head Start Preschool Program

    All students enrolled in Early Childhood Education II must have a current TB screening on file with LCPS (typically done over the summer months).  Students enrolled concurrently in ECE I and ECE II (ex. the student took ECE I his/her sophomore year and ECE II his/her junior year, the TB screening from his/her sophomore year will meet this requirement.  If there is a lapse in years (ex. ECE I sophomore year and ECE II senior year, the student must be screened for TB for the current year).
    All students enrolled in Early Childhood Education II must have a signed Code of Conduct form, provided by LCPS during the first few weeks of class.
