I am teaching kindergarten this year at Emerick. I am very excited for another year as an Emerick Eagle!
A little bit about Me...
I taught first grade for my first four years at Pinebrook Elementary in Aldie. I opened up Frederick Douglass Elementary in 2012 and continued to teach first grade. Before I started teaching, I graduated from James Madison University with my Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2008 where I also completed my undergraduate work. I grew up in Northern Virginia and attended school in Arlington. My family still lives in the area and I enjoy visiting them often. In my free time I enjoy exploring the area and spending time with family and friends. I live in Purcellville with my husband, a teacher at Loudoun Valley, and my little girl, Julianna. I am also a big fan of traveling. I spent 5 weeks studying abroad in Australia my junior year of college. While there, the JMU students worked in the schools and observed a variety of teaching strategies. I have also traveled to South America, Asia, and Europe as well as almost all of the 50 states (I only have 3 left!). We live in a global world now and I want to open up my students to the possibilities that are out there. I try to bring my experiences into the classroom as much as possible.I am also a huge Redskins fan and I look forward to many Sundays watching the games. I am hoping for a return to the playoffs this year!I am looking forward to a new year in kindergarten. I have an open door policy so feel free to contact me whenever you need to with questions and concerns!Click on Eagle to Email Me!
