    Wayde B. Byard

    Wayde B. Byard has been the public information officer for Loudoun County Public Schools since June 2000. Prior to taking his current job, he spent 20 years as a reporter and editor for the Columbia Missourian, Columbia Daily Tribune and The Winchester Star. His assignments included crime, schools, government and sports. Byard also worked extensively for the Associated Press, including spending four years as an AP college basketball pollster.

    He won 14 Virginia Press Association (VPA) awards for writing and editorial excellence.  A native of Suffern, N.Y., Byard holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. He also attended the Institute of European Studies in Vienna, Austria.
