Dear Hutchison Farm Elementary Community,
It is with great pleasure that I serve as the principal of Hutchison Farm Elementary. I am extremely proud to be part of an exceptional school system and school with such extraordinary students, staff, and parents.
My entire career in education has been within Loudoun County Public Schools. I was a third grade teacher at both Ashburn and Lowes Island Elementary. I was an Assistant Principal at Algonkian Elementary and later appointed as the Principal. In July of 2010, I began as Principal of Hutchison Farm Elementary.
I attended George Mason University where I received both a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Later, I extended my education through Shenandoah University where I received a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
At Hutchison Farm Elementary, we are dedicated to the success of all learners. We are committed to the establishment of a nurturing and safe environment in which students' individuality and self-worth are valued and where all students and staff are treated with respect. Students are encouraged and supported to reach their full potential through the use of effective academic and social problem solving skills. Students will be equipped with the tools necessary to achieve success in our ever-changing society. Hutchison Farm Elementary is devoted to the development of lifelong learners who are able to identify and develop their own strengths and talents.
The partnership between home and school benefits our students in all aspects of their education. I encourage you to be an active participant of Hutchison Farm Elementary in any way that you can. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to a school year full of observable academic, developmental, and social growth in all of our students.
Heidi E. Smith, Principal
