• Volunteers Are Vital to HPMS!

Get involved with your student! At Harper Park, parent volunteers complement the efforts of teachers and staff to ensure that your child has the best possible middle school experience. Your help is very important, whether you assist with a specific activity here and there, or commit to a long-term assignment. Volunteering is a great way to get to know the people your child interacts with at HPMS, and it’s also a great resume booster!

Please sign up for volunteer opportunities below:

    Office and Lunch Help:

Assist the school’s administrative staff with various tasks and special projects. You may be helping in the front office or House A, B, or C. Two shifts are available: 8:15 – 10 am or 2 – 3:30 pm. Or, choose to assist in the cafeteria from 11:45 am – 1:45 pm, where you will serve as a recess monitor and adult supervisor for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade lunches. You can volunteer weekly, bi-weekly, or just whenever your schedule allows. Sign up for either office or lunch assistance here.

    Library Help:

Become a “Shelf Elf.” You’ll help the librarians with things like cataloging and shelving books. You may also help with projects like laminating or setting up displays. Shifts are Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-11 am, or Tuesday and Thursdays from 1-3 pm. Sign up here for as few or as many shifts as your schedule will allow, and don’t worry if you have to come a few minutes late or leave early… any help between the listed hours is much appreciated. Please send questions to our Volunteer Coordinator

    Teacher Appreciation:

Provide supplies and refreshments; set up, operate, and clean up after special teacher- and staff-related events. Each event will have its own sign-up. To be notified when sign-ups come out, please send your name and email address to our Volunteer Coordinator.

    One-Time Events:

If you cannot volunteer on a regular basis, sign up when help is needed for a one-time event or project. For example, we will need help for the annual Book Fair, typically held in December. To be notified when sign-ups come out, please send your name and email address to our Volunteer Coordinator

    D.A.S.H. (Dads At School Helping):

Fathers and/or father figures spend the day or part of the day helping out at HPMS. You might assist with student arrival and dismissal, contribute your time in the specialty classrooms (music, tech, art, PE, etc.), or be an extra hand on special event days (evening opportunities available). You’ll wear an official D.A.S.H. t-shirt and can attend class and eat lunch with your child. You’ll also serve as a positive male role model for the students. Please visit here for more information.
