• Mrs. Wilkinson
Hi there! My name is Amanda Wilkinson, and I am thrilled to be a member of the RLC Kindergarten Team! This fall I will begin my thirteenth year as an educator. I have previously taught fabulous first graders, super second graders, and thinking third graders--but teaching Kindergarten is my favorite thing to do! I hold a Masters degree in Teaching, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Psychology, and an Endorsement in Gifted Education. I have a passion for the art of teaching, and seek opportunities to grow within the profession as the needs of the student population change. In my years as an educator, I have loved watching each of my students grow and make new friendships!
I feel that all children should be given the opportunity to learn in the style that suits them best. Fostering a child’s natural sense of wonder about the world in which they live is critical to engagement. I strive every day to put the "KIND" in kindergarten by building a strong sense of classroom community and connection. Anyone stepping into my classroom would observe students engaged in thought-provoking discussions, cooperative group tasks, and activities designed to implement technology.
I pride myself on my ability to build a positive rapport with students, fellow staff, and the community I serve.  I strive to maintain the highest standards in the classroom and teach with the school’s mission in mind. My personal goal is to help my students grow into independent, productive citizens who are lifelong learners. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband Mark and our two children. Our son Cole is a rising fourth grade student here at RLC. Our daughter Cayden is an active three year-old who LOVES Disney and dress up! Our family loves to travel to the beach and watch movies together. We have a very sweet dog named Charlie Brown who loves to cuddle.
Please do not hesitate to contact me via email and don't forget to follow me on Twitter (see below).  I’m looking forward to a year filled with learning, friendship, and fun.
Enjoy your summer, stay safe, and remember to READ and PLAY every day!

Hi! My name is Fran Barnes and this will be my 13th year working in the LCPS system and my 5th year at RLC.  I have my Bachelors of Science with a Minor in Special Education with my Masters in Social Work.    All three of my children have graduated from LCPS . Two are successfully employed currently and my youngest is going to Nebraska University.
