The Liberty Library Team
Mrs. Coleman (Librarian)
My name is Alicia Coleman and I am excited to begin my nineth year as the librarian for Liberty Elementary School. I earned my M.S.L.S. from The Catholic University of America, with a concentration in school libraries, in January 2009. I have worked as a substitute K-6 classroom teacher and substitute K-12 librarian in Fairfax County Public Schools as well as a part-time evening librarian for ECPI University, Manassas Campus, since earning my degree. Having spent many hours volunteering in my children's schools and being involved with the P.T.A., I decided to pursue a second career as a Librarian. I spend my free time outside hiking, gardening and biking; or inside swimming and reading.
Mrs. Varachi (Librarian)
My name is Christine Varachi and I have been a half-time librarian at Liberty on and off for the past 7 years. I am so happy to be back at Liberty this year! I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Elementary Education. I taught fourth and fifth grade in the classroom for four years before going back to school at Catholic University to earn my M.L.I.S in Library and Information Science. I have a daughter named Katie who is currently a fifth grader here at Liberty. This year I will be teaching all of the kindergarten and first grade students in the library. In my spare time, I love reading (obviously!), hanging out with my family and playing with our dog, Cookie. I am so excited to share my love of books and reading with the students at Liberty!
Mrs. Palmisano (Library Assistant)
My name is Caitlin Palmisano and I am so excited to join Liberty’s Library Team. I have been a substitute teacher at Liberty for four years and in Loudoun County for six. My own children are no longer in elementary school, but I love this stage and being able to encourage younger students to discover books and authors they love. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, as well as hiking with my family and traveling. I can’t wait to see all of your familiar faces in the Library!
