This will be my twelfth year as Liberty Elementary's Librarian. I will be teaching Pre-K - 5th grade library lessons every other week for 50 minutes during the grade-level Specials block which will be on an A week/B week schedule. I earned a Masters of Science, Library and Information Science degree from The Catholic University of America and worked in Fairfax County as a Substitute Teacher/Librarian and as an Instructional Assistant, and at ECPI University in Manassas as the evening Librarian before joining LCPS at Liberty.

My husband and I are empty-nesters, and the proud grandparents of our daughter's greyhound and our son's English bulldog. We therefore spend a lot of time travelling between Winston-Salem, NC and Los Angeles, CA visiting them. I spend weeknights doing Zumba or swimming; weekends hiking, gardening, biking, or walking; and summers travelling the world!

    Mrs. Hima Potharaju, Library Assistant

Hi, my name is Hima Potharaju. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from J.N.V University, India. This is my 9th year at LCPS. I am thrilled to be working at Liberty as Library Assistant, where everyone will learn and grow together!

I have been living in South Riding since 2000 with my husband and two sons. My older son, Chiraag, is a senior at Virginia Tech doing a B.S. in computer science. My other son, Namit, is pursuing a B.S. in Business Management at Purdue University.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
