Rachel Brill - Kindergarten TeacherWelcome to Room 2! My name is Rachel Brill and I am excited to be your child's Kindergarten teacher with my wonderful teaching assistant, Yvette McVadon.
I am pretty unique in that I have experienced LCPS from multiple angles - as a student, parent and teacher. I grew up in Leesburg and attended Loudoun County Public Schools from Kindergarten through graduation, when there were only 4 high schools in Loudoun County (Yes, that WAS a long time ago!). I went on to attend James Madison University where I earned my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. Afterwards, I returned to Loudoun County and taught for eight years. I started my teaching career at Middleburg Elementary and then moved to Algonkian Elementary, where I taught both Kindergarten and Second grade. I then elected to move to Hillside as part of the opening staff where I taught Kindergarten for several more years before taking time off to focus on my growing family.
In 2004, I returned to education and taught Pre-K at a private preschool for six years. During that timeframe I also became an LCPS parent. Finally in 2010, with my children older and more independent, I happily returned to Loudoun County Public Schools again as a teacher. I have been at Creighton's Corner in room 2 teaching Kindergarten ever since.
On a personal note, I am blessed to have married my high school sweetheart and we have two girls. We also have a young dog who keeps us plenty busy. We are sports fans and enjoy cheering on UVA in football and basketball (Go Hoos!) and we are big Nats fans. If you can't find me at home or at school, then I am likely at the beach!
I am looking forward to another great year in Kindergarten! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concens.
