Library Team: Ms. Lee, Mrs. Brown, Ms. NaceMy name is Kim Nace, and I could not be more excited for my sixth year as the full-time librarian here at Creighton's Corner! I grew up in Maryland and have lived here in Northern Virginia since 1994.I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with an Early Childhood Education certification from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. While teaching here in Loudoun County, I completed my M.Ed. in Advanced Studies of Teaching and Learning with an endorsement in Library Science from George Mason University, 2003. Prior to this position, I spent 13 years in the classroom and have taught all grades Pre-K through second. Additionally, I worked as a literacy trainer and facilitator for LCPS for 9 years and very much enjoyed building relationships with teachers and supporting them in their classroom with implementing best practices and a literacy framework. . I am extremely passionate about literacy learning and love working with both students and teachers, so I look forward to working closely with the staff and community here at Creighton’s Corner. Collaboration is a key component to student achievement, and I am here to offer my support in many ways.In my spare time I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, spending as much time with my family and friends as possible, and traveling to the Outer Banks, NC every summer! It is my dream and goal to one day soon, be certified with a therapy dog and work with students in the library, classroom and larger community to become better readers and to LOVE reading.
Ms. Lee is excited to be the itinerant librarian again at Creighton's Corner Elementary School. This is her second year with Loudoun County Public Schools, but has served the county for over ten years in the public library system as a children's librarian at the Sterling Library. Ms. Lee received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Master's degree in Library & Information Services from the University of Maryland at College Park. She also has a Master's degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Teachers College at Columbia University.
Ms. Lee is a local who was raised in Montgomery County in Maryland, spending summers in Ocean City and volunteering with the children's ministry at church. She cultivated a love of reading both through the school and public library. Ms. Lee has always had a passion for education and a heart for children. She is excited to share her love of reading as well as empowering students and staff to be effective users of information in its various forms. Ms. Lee will be at Creighton's Corner in the afternoons and Madison's Trust in the mornings.
