All About Ms. Worthington
Jennifer Worthington is beginning her fabulous twentieth year of teaching music in Loudoun County! She opened Arcola Elementary as one of the inaugural staff in 2007, and before that, she taught at Emerick Elementary in Purcellville. She is a native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of West Chester University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, a certification in Orff-Schulwerk, and a Masters of Education in Administration. Ms. Worthington is a member of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC), the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the Organization of American Kodaly Educators (OAKE), and the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA).
Ms. Worthington's love of music extends to all areas of her life, from directing the Drama Clubs at Arcola Elementary to choreographing and directing the children's theatre, Summer on the Stage. She is also the founder and director of the Stone Springs Singers and Showmakers, performing ensembles for children sponsored by the Arcola PTA. In the evenings and on the weekends, she teaches ballet, tap, and musical theatre at Studio Bleu Dance Center in Ashburn. And, she sings soprano in the choir, and plays bells and French horn at Arcola United Methodist Church.
Having been to Walt Disney World more times than she could ever count since the age of three, Ms. Worthington now helps families make their own Disney memories as a licensed Disney travel agent. When Ms. Worthington is not singing on the stage or dancing in the wings, her favorite place to be is cheering for her talented dancing and dramatic three dancing daughters on the stage, reading on the warm beach, or trading pins at Walt Disney World!
